How to Minor in Chicanx and Latinx Studies

Courses for the Chicanx and Latinx Studies minor explore the range of Chicanx and Latinx experiences in the United States and the Americas. Listed below are the requirements for the minor.

Requirements

  1.  The equivalent of two years of Spanish language instruction at UC San Diego. Satisfactory completion of LTSP 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, or 2E will satisfy this requirement. The required distribution of the five upper-division courses may be selected from the UC San Diego Catalog. See current course offerings
  3. Students may petition to receive credit for courses not listed above; all study abroad courses must be petitioned.
  4. Maintain a 2.0 GPA in the Chicanx and Latinx Studies minor.
  5. It is expected that courses will be taken for a letter grade, although students can petition for the pass/no pass option in Chicanx and Latinx Studies courses. Approval is at the discretion of the Chicanx and Latinx Studies Director.
